January 28 is the birthday of Typ:b's Z-NU. We want to organize this project for Type:b fans, so they can send their love for Z-NU on this special day.

We will be making a fan video message, which we will send to AQ Entertainment and Z-NU personally. You can enter this fan video message too!

Strictly Kpop #3 20 December 2015

Strictly KPOP is back! Expect only the best pop songs from South Korea's music scene. No other genres. We will play STRICTLY KPOP! As always, this will be a multidisciplinary evening, with plenty of entertainment. Here's what you can expect:

# FREE KOREAN FOOD
Thanks to the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the event will be catered. We will serve the best Korean food in the Netherlands. The food is included in the ticket price, so come early if you're craving for some Korean delicacies. 

# NOREABANG
There will be a noraebang karaoke room with it's own bar. Here you can sing KPOP, JPOP and Western pop songs. There are two wireless mics, so duets are possible!

Cheemchi Fair

Cheemchi presents, in collaboration with Hallyucon and the Korean Embassy, the one and only fair focused on Korea: Cheemchi Fair!

At this market, you have the opportunity to buy all kinds of stuff; perhaps you will find that one album that is no longer available or the perfect set of chopsticks. Of course it is also possible to just chat with people or go to one of our workshops. We also have the Cheemchi Lottery and much more!

The entrance fee is € 2.50 and the market takes place at 'Partycentrum the Lockhorst' in Sliedrecht on 21 November. In the course of time we will be announcing several more exciting things, so stay tuned!

Type:b in Belgium

In September we were lucky enough to hold an interview with the Korean Hip Hop duo 'Type:b'. We are happy to announce that they will be coming to Europe by the end of this month! Type:b will be performing in Belgium on October 30th at the 'One night in Seoul' party hosted by Asian Events Tofou Party.

There are rumours that Type:b will also be visiting the Netherlands on October the 31st.
We will make a post on that as soon as we have more info.

Interview with Type:b

Type:b is a new Korean Hip Hop duo with a lot of talent and potential. Both members have done a lot in the Korean music industry already and are now binding their talents to start this power duo.

Z-NU, the oldest of the two, was in a Kpop group called Victor. With that group he traveled to the UK and the Netherlands, being the support act to big Kpop star Jay Park. He also worked together on a song with a group called One.Case. The Korean-Australian member Isaac was in the group M.I.K and had some solo projects.

The duo met each other in the year 2014 and found out that they both have a strong passion for making the same style of music, which is hip-hop. Now they just released their debut MV, under AQ entertainment. KNL was lucky enough to do an interview with them!

INTERVIEW

1. Can you give us a short introduction about yourselfs?
Isaac: Hey whats up we in the house Type:b!
Z-NU: Hi, I’m Z-NU, the big brother if Type:b. A lot of you probably know me as Gyum from Victor. As I came back with a new name in a new group, I will bring you more dynamic music and rap.

2. How and when did you guys meet?
Isaac: We met when we were idol rappers at a different company.
Z-NU: I met Isaac, who was working on his solo album, at a studio where I used to work on mixtapes.

3. Why did you choose for the name Type:b?
Isaac: Simple! Because we both have blood type B.
Z-NU: Both of our blood types are B and there are a lot of nice words starting with B so we had no reason to think twice about it.

4. You guys are a Hip Hop group, but would you like to cover other music genres as well?
Isaac: Yes definitely looking at the edm market looking to do hiphop, electronic and house music.
Z-NU: I like all kinds of music. I will end up doing raps but if I get to have chance, I want to let you hear different kinds as well.

5. Which artists do you look up to and who inspires you to make music?
Isaac: For me it would have to be Jay Z, Kayne West, Big Sean and Will.I am. I just to name a few because they are great artists and personally my father is my inspiration.
Z-NU: I like Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, and Eminem. Of the ones from Korea, a lot of them are great but I worked on my dream of becoming rapper with music from Tablo and P-type.

6. With which Korean or international artist would you like to collaberate?
Isaac: Big Sean and Will.I am because they are big name trendsetters at the moment it would be great to do a collaboration with them!
Z-NU: Collaboration with the ones I mentioned above would be a great compliment for me. Besides those, I would love to work with Hyukoh or Zion.T which are hot these days.

7. What do you like to do besides making music?
Isaac: I like all kinds of sports such as soccer and tennis. I also like composing songs.
Z-NU: I used to like playing soccer, basketball, and table tennis but it has been awhile so I’m not sure if I still can play them well.

8. Would you like to perform in Europe, if so which countries?
Isaac: Yes we have confirmation for Belgium and Netherlands starting on October 30th and looking at France also.
Z-NU: I might be performing in the Netherlands and Belgium somewhere either in the end of October or beginning of November but I will let you know when it’s definite.

9. What are your plans for the future?
Z-NU: We want to introduce Type:b to people in different countries.

10. Do you have a message for the Dutch fans?
Isaac: Whats up Netherlands we Type:b will be coming to you very soon october 30th hope to see you guys there keep up the support and love thank you!
Z-NU: Thinking of the cheering and support that you showed me, still gives me goose bumps. I promise that I will visit you again and present you a show that is even better than last time. Hope to meet you again. Thank you!

Hallyucon has been invited by the lovely people of the Yi Jun Peace Museum for a Korean Ceremony to celebrate the 70th year of Korean Liberation this saturday, August 15.

Hallyucamp

In 2015 Hallyucon will be organizing the second annual Dutch Korea/Kpop themed camp
called HALLYUCAMP! It will be during the weekend of the 7th,8th and 9th of August. Our
own mini-kpop holiday!

The camp will be in a group accommodation in the center of the country; de Houtduif in Austerlitz (Utrecht).

They are going to organize some great Kpop/Korean activities for Hallyucamp, like dance contests, campfires… the stuff you’d expect from a great camp!

Showers and beds are provided, but you’d have to bring your own sleeping bag and pillowcase! You will also have to bring a dishtowel, because there will be some dishes to wash during this weekend.

All food would be included in the price! They will be taking care of breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The camp will last from the Friday afternoon 17:00 until the Sunday afternoon 17:00. All food, snacks, accommodation and activities included, the price is €65 per person for the whole weekend.

Fan Project for James of Royal Pirates

James Lee had an unexpected tragic accident last week while he was visiting a restaurant to meet with a friend. As James was walking into the restaurant, the door on main entrance crashed down on him and left severe damage on his left wrist.

- It does not feel real that we will go to Europe yet. But we soon will feel it, once we are on the plane. It will be great!

2. Are there specific places you would like to visit while you are in the Netherlands?

- Yes, Amsterdam National gallery.

- We’ve heard that Monaco is super beautiful!

We regretfully have to announce that the concert will not happen on the 4th of April. Unfortunately we were not able overcome the indifferences we've run in to. We will still be working hard to make K-pop happen in the Netherlands; after the successful campaign and the great responses of the fans several parties from South-Korean have contacted us exhibiting their interest in the European market. With them we will be looking into organizing the concert at a later date, changes in the line-up may occur because of it. Although this is a setback for all the K-pop fans in the Netherlands and Europe, we are positive that eventually we will make it happen.
